Unique New Zealand is registered as a private training establishment rated Category 1 by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. We are also signatories to the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students)  Code of Practice.

We will prepare you for success in an English speaking world. Come and join our family. Study English and have fun in a beautiful, friendly, beachside community.

What is NZQA Category 1?

Unique New Zealand is checked by the NZQA regularly to make sure that we are a quality Private Training Establishment.  Category 1 is the highest rating, which Unique achieved in our External Evaluation and Review in 2013 and 2017.

Category 1 means that NZQA is highly confident in Unique’s ability to deliver quality academic programmes and look after students. Adult students who study for 14 weeks or longer at a Category 1 institute and have a valid student visa can work part-time.

Buildings

Unique New Zealand is located in the beautiful Browns Bay. Our school is right by the beach, so at break times you can take a stroll along the sand, or eat lunch with the seagulls.

Unique has two buildings, which we call Youth Hub and Adults Campus. The buildings are very close to each other; it only takes two minutes to walk between them.

Both buildings have free Wi-fi and places to eat.

Youth Hub

Adults Campus

Adults Campus

Adults Campus  is home to most of our adult students.

It has two floors and contains nine classrooms and one cafeteria and a vending machine.

Youth Hub

Unique New Zealand’s new Youth Hub is specifically designed for our Teen students. The evolution of our Teen Programmes is focused on rethinking how we use our resources: Teachers, Time, Spaces and Technology.

The Youth Hub’s cutting-edge modular design allows the space to be manipulated into different work areas depending on the number of students and the tasks being completed.  We use moveable partitions to create Learning areas, for example, an open-plan area for collaborative work and presentations, 2 separate large areas for general teaching and 3 or 4 work areas for projects.

Our Youth Hub is equipped with 4 Interactive SmartBoards and has a high-speed Fibre network to ensure easy access to Wi-Fi for multiple devices and users.

Classrooms

Our classrooms are very spacious, and are furnished with comfortable chairs and tables, and state-of-the-art learning technology.

Many rooms have electronic whiteboards, so teachers can use interactive activities, play video clips, use online resources and share class content with the students via web classrooms.

We also have iPads, which students use to complete projects and practise their English with language learning apps.
