Vocational Programmes for Adults

Unique New Zealand is a Category One school. This is the highest rating from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

This means that if you are an adult student and enrol with us for 14 weeks or more you will automatically receive part time work rights on your student visa.  It also means that you can be sure that you will receive high quality teaching and great service from our admin team.

If you have a working holiday visa you can also study and work in New Zealand (please check the Immigration NZ website for the latest information on Working holiday schemes for your country.

We have a number of programmes available that will prepare you for working in New Zealand. Each programme is an afternoon only module and students study in their respective English programme in the morning.

The minimum level to join these progammes is Intermediate Level.

Work Skills Development

This programme is perfect for students planning to work in an English-speaking environment. Students gain the skills and confidence needed to use English effectively in the workplace. Please click here for more information.

Customer Service Skills

This two week afternoon programme follows on from the Work Skills programme and is perfect for students wanting to learn about customer service in New Zealand. Learn how to use English language skills to work in the customer service industryPlease click here for more information.

Business English

This 4-week programme is perfect for those who need to undertake business in English in their daily lives. Please click here for more information.

English for Law Enforcement

This programme is designed for students operating in law enforcement, or those planning to do so, in an English or international environment. It is suitable for law enforcers from a range of different backgrounds. Please click here for more information.

English for Nursing

This programme is designed to familiarise students with the English language necessary to engage in various aspects of nursing, for those preparing to enter this medical field, or for those who are already qualified nurses. Please click here for more information.

English for Tourism

This programme gives students the language, information and skills needed to start a career in tourism, using the English language as the medium of communication. Please click here for more information.

Please note: The vocational programmes offered in this booklet require a minimum number of 8 students to run. If this number is not reached, the programme will be cancelled and students will join the General English programme in the afternoon.
